Fire Impact Fees in Grand Fire Protection District No. 1

Effective August 28, 2003 Town of Granby adopted Ordinance No. 594 regarding fire protection impact fees.  Revised Ordinance No. 721 was adopted December 9, 2008. The Ordinances allow for the collection of Fire Impact Fees within the incorporated limits of the Town of Granby.

Effective October 13, 2003 the Grand County Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution No. 2003-10-2 and Resolution No. 2003-10-3 adopting procedures for fire protection impact fees.  Revised Resolution No. 2009-1-52 was adopted January 20, 2009. The Resolutions allow for the collection of Fire Impact Fees within the unincorporated area of Grand Fire Protection District No. 1.

An impact fee is a one-time charge for new development that attempts to recover the cost incurred by local government in providing the public facilities required to serve new development.

The impact fee must be paid prior to a building permit application for previously platted subdivisions and prior to final plat approval for all newly applied subdivisions outside the unincorporated town limits.

Prior to obtaining a building permit all applicants must submit complete building plans to the Fire Department for review. Building plans should be brought to the Headquarters Fire Station located in Granby, Co.  Fire Impact Fees will be determined for each project. Impact Fees shall be payable in full in order for the plans to be stamped for approval and the building permit issued.

If you have any questions or need to arrange a time to deliver the plans to Grand Fire please email us
